Specimen Required: | Specimen collection: Stool specimen should be collected as soon after onset of symptoms as possible. Fresh stool should be placed in sterile, leak proof, wide mouth, preservative free containers. Lincoln Diagnostics provides a collection kit if required by the facility. GPP is not compatible with stool samples that have been stored in fixatives. It is a batch test. Specimens are processed within 48 hours of collection for nucleic acid extraction and are run and reported in 2-4 days.
