As of Monday, March 16, 2020, Lincoln Diagnostics will start accepting specimens for the NOVEL CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19). Providers can also order RPP and COVID-19 together with code: CRPP on the same specimen collection.

Rejection criteria

  1. Swabs with calcium alginate or cotton tips; swabs with wooden shafts;
  2. Refrigerated samples greater than 72 hours old; room temperature specimen
  3. Improperly labeled; grossly contaminated; broken or leaking transport device;
  4. Collection with substances inhibitory to PCR including heparin, hemoglobin, ethanol, EDTA concentrations >0.01M
